To train professionals in the field of blood transfusion services.
Objectives of the Course
To prepare blood banking & Transfusion medicine technicians. After successful completion of the course, a trainee should be able to understand the principles of Blood Banking & transfusion techniques.
Course Design
A 12 months course composed of forty working weeks with 800 hours formal teaching in the form of theory and practical. Handouts will be provided on training under supervision of senior technicians at different blood bank Lectures.
Class Room
Formal teaching will be provided on pre-selected topics. Students will be encouraged to take part in discussions. A handout or an outline of the lecture may be provided if necessary.
Tutorials
An informal group discussion on a given topic will be initiated by the students. Students will be encouraged to discuss day to day problems in blood banking trouble shooting and their solution.
Practical
Practical demonstration on various techniques will provide an insight on blood bank methodology, source of errors will be highlighted and their solution will be sought.
Duration
One year program of 40 working weeks.
Eligibility
Diploma in Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine (Tech) Examination shall be open to the following candidates:
He/She has passed Higher Secondary Certificate Examination with Matric Science from a Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education in Pakistan.Any other Examination recognized as equivalent to the aforesaid examination.Has been enrolled in a recognized institution during one Academic year preceding the examination and has duly registered himself/herself with the board. Produced the certificate/Documents signed by the Head of the institutions he/she has most recently attended. Original marks sheet of HSC Examination issued by the Board of Intermediate and secondary Education.College leaving certificate, in original showing date of birthThree attested copies of recently taken photographs.
Certificate showing satisfactory completion of class room work throughout the academic year preceding the examination.
Certificate Showing
80% of lectures delivered in each of the subjects, which he/she has taken up for study. 90% of periods assigned to practical work in a subject having practical.
Every candidate on the rolls of an institute shall submit his / her applications for admission on the prescribed form and remit the prescribed fee through the head of the Institute concerned so as to reach the Board by a certain date fixed by the chairman.
